"Our mission is to outfit today's active woman so she can look, feel and perform beautifully."
Vivian R Sayward – Founder & Chief Enthusiastic Officer
Vivian was inspired by her Colombian-born, entrepreneurial parents who immigrated to the US back in the 1960s and built a successful manufacturing business in Orange County, California.
After a career in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, Vivian wanted to go in a new direction, a direction in which she could build and grow something from scratch, just like her parents had done.
Vivian was introduced to golf thanks to her golf-crazed husband, John. Soon enough, John grew tired of waiting for his wife to get ready, as she went through her closet figuring out what to wear on the course that did not make her look like an “undersized man,” aka: a men’s polo shirt cut short and called a woman’s top, or worse. Finally one day, John encouraged her ‘to do something about it or stop complaining.” As a result, Vivacity Sportswear was born!
Since its inception, Vivacity Sportswear has evolved from a fashionable golf line to a lifestyle brand with stylish, easy care, flattering pieces that work to complement a woman on-the-go.
As Vivacity continued to expand its reach, Vivian kept on hearing from women who struggled with finding well-made, stylish pieces for larger and more curvy figures. Just as she had first noticed the discrepancy in the women’s traditional golf market, Vivian realized that she needed to address this much neglected market as well.
In August 2016, Vivacity launched Fit Knows No Size, an online collaborative platform to raise voices against the media, fashion industry, and individuals who judge a woman by just her waist size. Around the same time, Vivacity proudly introduced its extended line of beautiful and thoughtfully crafted pieces for sizes 16 through 28.
Vivian is committed to supporting local businesses by maintaining all Vivacity-related design, development and manufacturing activities in Southern California.
